Dance Based yoga 
 
Pure Movement!!

From a diverse background in dance, yoga and pilates, Carly Mountain originally trained as a contemporary dancer at the Laban Centre London. She then trained with Jonathan Monks in the Yoga Monks style and Susanne Lahusen in Astanga-based yoga and to qualify as a Pilates Foundation teacher.

Throughout her various training and development Carly has developed a unique style of yoga which has grown out of her own practice and the people she works with. She does not follow one yoga lineage but believes that self practice and exploration is the key to the most authentic experience of yoga.

"How to bring a taste of this authenticity into a lead yoga class is a constant challenge, which is for me, one of the most interesting and enjoyable aspects of teaching". Carly uses her own practice and inspiration from the individuals in the class to weave a fluid and dynamic blend of yoga. Carly takes a non-dogmatic approach to yoga, "The primary vehicle for change in this practice is the physical body, I focus primarily on alignment and body connections to create a greater sense of freedom and confidence in the body and consequently, the mind".

Carly is certified by the BWY, Yoga Alliance, Pilates Foundation and specialises in Pregnancy Yoga which she was taught by Uma Dinsmore-Tuli.

Throughout her teaching career she has taught/teaches for Tri Yoga, Danceworks, Rambert Dance Company and the Laban Centre London.
