Abi Clancey-Low
Hatha Yoga
After seven years at boarding school training in acting, music and dance Abi Clancey-Low moved to New York City to pursue a professional career in acting by studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. It was during her time in NYC that she discovered the world of yoga. After a long day of tiring auditions it was yoga that brought her back to herself. With yoga she was able to be herself and let go of all the strains of daily life. After a short time it became evident that yoga, not acting, would become the focus of her life going forward and she began studying various forms of yoga at some of the city’s best studios.
Abi moved to North London in the autumn of 2007 and shortly after was accepted for an Ashtanga based teacher training course with Paul Dallaghan at Yoga Thailand on the island of Koh Samui. After returning from the course she began teaching numerous classes in North London and is now enjoying teaching two mornings a week at Danceworks.
She finds true calm and clarity whilst teaching and is truly grateful for all that her students teach her. In addition to her yoga studies, she is also a trained Unitive/Life Coach, which she has found compliments yoga perfectly. Abi will further her teaching repertoire in September when she will begin training to become a Kundalini yoga instructor.
“I feel honoured to be able to pass on the amazing teachings of yoga. In a world where we are constantly being judged and change is always around the corner, we all need something to keep us calm and grounded. I want to offer a safe place for students to let go and just be themselves, to start exploring the beautiful connection between the mind, the body and the soul. Everyone has everything they need to live a happy life they just need to find it within themselves.”
In her spare time Abi attends many different yoga studios and workshops to deepen her own practice. She also enjoys being with her friends and family, singing in a band, riding her bike around London and is a dedicated Alexander Technique student.
