| Biography and Class Descriptions
Originally trained in Japan before graduating at The Royal Ballet School, Ayumi then worked with both Royal Ballet and Birmingham Royal ballet (Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet). She then Joined and became a principal dancer with Portuguese National Ballet, London City Ballet and Northern Ballet as well as guesting with Wiener Ballet Theater, European Ballet, Noriko Kobayashi Ballet Theater and Saga Ballet. Ayumi joined the cast of The Phantom of the Opera in 1992 leaving for a while for guest appearances in the ballet world before rejoining Phantom in 1998 to 2000. Ayumi started teaching Open Class at Danceworks in 1997. Following the birth of her two daughters, she returned to teaching at Danceworks also gaining her teaching qualifications in 2009.
Ayumi currently teaches ‘Ballet for children’ at ‘Twinkle Stars Ballet School’ as well as teaching at Rambert ballet and contemporary school, as well as her open professional classes Ayumi is also available for private coaching and lessons by prior arrangement. |
